Fantastic book

This is a beautifully written book, which encouraged a really good conversation with my 6 year old and 9 year old. The illustrations provide a wonderful background. I am looking forward to re-reading it with my children. Would recommend over and over again.

A poetic tale of strength and hope.

This is a very compassionate tale that I think will help children see themselves represented in books as well as helping others to understand the experience of the displaced.

Sonia has such a poetic style of writing without being too cliche, and the illustrator has done a terrific job of bringing her words to life.

It looks stunning on my shelf and I'm so proud to say my talented cousin is a published author! 💕

Wonderful

Couldn’t wait to get a copy. Such an important story captured in an accessible and sensitive manner. Beautiful illustrations really allow the reader to see through the eyes of Amina. Would recommend and would love to see it available in schools.

What a wonderful book!

I have loved sharing this story with children in my school. It is so moving and teaches about courage, hope and the importance of belonging. The illustrations are beautiful and the story uses wonderful imagery to explain difficult concepts. It was especially poignant to see photos of children at the end of the book who have had to make similar journeys to find safety. I highly recommend this book.

A meaningful story beautifully told

A story for the age we are in. This story is emotional, honest and beautiful. Whilst primarily a children’s book, adults can learn just as much from this beautifully written piece.
